E.O.E (Equal Opportunity Employment) hails from New Orleans and was originally formed by Billy Franklin under the name Atman Roots. The band quickly developed a following in the Crescent City with their unique blend of Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin and Reggae. E.O.E was on tour in the western part of the country when hurricane Katrina made landfall and forever changed their hometown. But with a new level of passion and commitment, the band continued to gain momentum. Though the members of the group remain scattered around the country, they continue to record and tour tirelessly. E.O.E is currently gearing up for their 5th tour since the hurricane and has released their new album Fortune and Circumstance. Their music holds a message of peace and forward thinking, and contains strong social and political overtones. The compositions are presented it in a conscious balance between song writing and improvisation, striving to achieve freedom within structure rather than in spite of it. The band is now making an effort to put their message into action, holding fund-raising events for Habitat for Humanity as well as offering voter registration at their shows in preparation for the upcoming Senate elections
