Chelsea’s Café Presents Abita Fest July 16th – July 21st

For one week in July Chelsea’s and Abita Beer have teamed up to give you a mid summer treat. We will be serving ice cold Abita products for special prices, free giveaways, including those super nice Abita t-shirts, huggies, stickers, and more. Chelsea’s will be serving up live music nightly, with the start being on July 16th with a reunion of our old open mic night, featuring some of the finest local talent in Baton Rouge. We will carry on through the week with Mike Foster Project on that Wednesday the 18th, K-Flux on the 19th, and the Lost Bayou Ramblers on the 20th and Reverend Payton’s Big Damn Band on the 21st.  All the above shows will start at 10:30 pm and will be located inside of Chelsea’s.

However, on the 21st, we will be opening the backyard to a special event featuring a dj from 12 noon to 2pm, and live music till 10pm. Some of the bands are Local 309, Alan Brockman, TJ Black, and special guest. We will be serving Abita products from outdoor bars, as well as soft drinks and refreshments for the families. We will have a food court set up along the back fence featuring some of our delicious foods. All ages are welcome because we want this to be a family event and encourage you to spread the word.

During this event we will be putting on an Art show inside the building from 5-10pm featuring local artist from Jay Michael’s splinter group of artist. We want to try to make this a cultural event to encompass the local flavor that south Louisiana has to offer. Everything will be Louisiana in style, including the bands, beer, food and art of the fest, so be sure to spread the word. This could be a really great thing to do on a very hot day in the summer. Nobody said we were smart to do this in the middle of July, but since it is going to be hot anyway, why not make a day out it.

Thanks,
Dave Remmetter
